I currently lead work on our Merchant Marketing Platform & Channels at WooCommerce. With 10+ years of experience across a range of leadership roles within product, design and marketing I have helped build and grow high performing teams by leveraging this cross-discipline experience to build empathy and understanding between teams, reduce silo’ing and ultimately deliver great products.

I’ve had a few side projects over the years, and am a firm believer that some of the best learning you can get is when you actually try and do things yourself and see how the people you trying to build software for actually use it and or make decisions on what to use. I led all our design work around making the process of creating a store as simple and enjoyable as possible using the new concepts introduced by Gutenberg (the new WordPress editor) as well as migrating our existing products that help merchants customise and merchandise their stores to be compatible with Gutenberg.

I led a globally distributed team, managing all marketing efforts for WooCommerce (one of the most-used eCommerce platforms in the world) across both platform adoption and extension sales.

I managed and led the product development team that built and maintained WooCommerce.com. During my time leading the team I product managed and designed a number of influential projects for the company – some highlights included: changing from a single license business model to a recurring subscription model, bringing extension management directly into our customers WordPress dashboard, enabling the sharing and transferring of extensions between Store Builders and Store Owners, created a seamless “one-click” purchase experience for existing customers and building a signup flow on WooCommerce.com that gathered valuable information about our customers to assist our marketing teams efforts acquisition efforts.

When I joined WooThemes they had grown from being a business that sold WordPress themes and a few plugins to have become better known for their flagship plugin – WooCommerce. I was responsible for repositioning WooThemes from being a theme shop that built one of the most popular eCommerce plugins to a company that was building an eCommerce platform and WooCommerce from being seen as a plugin for WordPress to a viable eCommerce solution.
